The Cauliflower Alley Club is saddened to have learned of the passing of Canadian wrestler "Big Mac", who passed away in his home province of Ontario, Canada on Monday April 15.
Mac had a long and storied history on the Ontario wrestling scene as a wrestler, promoter and ring owner that gave countless Ontario youngsters their first matches in his ring. A ring that he acquired after the tragic passing of wrestler/promoter Dave "Wildman" McKigney in 1988.
Greg Oliver has a wonderful story up explaining why his fabled wrestling ring is closely associated with Mac's legend and why Mac, whose real name was Mervyn McKie will be missed by so many in the Ontario wrestling industry, both young and old. You can read Greg's story by clicking the link below.
The CAC, would like to thank photographer Andrea Kellaway for the color portrait of Mac used in this article and extends our sincerest condolences to Mac's family and many friends.
Rest in peace Mac. Heaven has gained a gem.
